We have received the update below regarding the Shipley Windmill Bridleway (3217) from West Sussex County Council

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In terms of the bridge, this is being designed by WSCC's consultant, WSP, this financial year with a view to replacing the structure as part of next year’s Capital Programme (2026/27). In terms of the cost, WSCC will not have a clear idea of this until it has gone out to tender early next calendar year as this will be a competitive process and any contractors who are invited to quote will have to provide a cost at that stage.

Finally, in terms of the closure, the existing one ends in January 2026 but will need to be extended into the Autumn to allow sufficient time for the bridge works to be completed and the path reopened. WSCC will make the local Access Ranger aware of the issues with the closure notices and make sure these are positioned so clear to all potential users.
