Residents may be aware that a fibre optic broadband scheme in Shipley is due to be installed. Cllr Nicky Neal-Smith has reported that :

"A Community Interest Company has been set up and contracts with BT signed to deliver a small scheme, and it is now in the 'delivery' phase. The scheme is set for Countryman Lane, Sincox Lane, Saucelands Lane, Hooklands Lane, and a couple of the offshoots (Hammer Barn / Hammer Pond at the end of Countryman Lane, Jendara and all the various houses down the private road at the other end of Countryman Lane). Important to note is that the scheme does not extend all the way down Hooklands Lane. As far as I know, it ends at Palacelands – the bottom half of Hooklands. That’s because the bottom half of Hooklands already has a completed scheme (not sure of the area covered), and it’s actually on a different street cabinet.

Openreach were in surveying in the above areas the other day, and they are suggesting six months for it to be up and running.

If parishioners wish to join the voucher scheme, they can still claim the vouchers, so if you hear of anyone in these areas asking about it, please point them in my direction and I can forward them onto the Community Interest Company who will check if they are in the scheme / can sign up. "
